Question: Should their be a seperate strand at the 2009 Summer RAPPS districts for the Corrective Action Districts
EED represented by Les Morse.
Current Status:
- 20 districts are in corrective action
- EED is intervening in 5 districts
- Three districts under audit (BSSD, LKSD, North Slope)
The Summer Institute must be focused on what the corrective action districts need to implement - would not serve a lot of other districts.
If enough there is enough crossover with audience and speakers - it may make sense to deliver the corrective action strand with the UAA cohort
Corrective Action districts working on:
- Assessment systems that inform instruction on a regular basis - formative assessment
- What does instructional leadership look like in the classroom?
- Collaboration - weekly collaborative meedings examiniing data, instruction and professional development and collaboartive group coaching
Could develop a strand on Improving Instructional Practices. Do not want it to be so big that they can't work in small groups - corrective action districts need focused work time.
